The Texas Statewide Directory (click here to view a sample page) is the most comprehensive list of oil/gas operators in the entire state. This information comes directly from the Railroad Commission and contains the following information:
Operator Name and Address (both physical and mailing)
Phone Number
Officer's name and Title
Type of organization, i.e. corp., sole proprietorship, etc.
Operator number assigned by Texas Railroad Commission
Districts in which operators are active and whether in oil or gas

Each New Mexico Book (Northwest and Southeast - click here to view a sample page) is a compilation of both oil and gas production. Information is received from the Petroleum Recovery Research Center in Socorro, New Mexico, which is the clearinghouse for all data reported to the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division. The following information is contained in the New Mexico books:

The Texas Officer Cross Reference (click here to view a sample page) is a tremendous tool for reviewing the business history of an individual before entering into a business relationship. Information includes the companies for which an individual has worked since 1970 and the officer capacity in which he served with each company. Also included are names of the previous companies, their phone numbers, and whether they are active or inactive.
