Petroleum Strategies, Inc. (PSI), was founded in 1991 to serve as a Qualified Intermediary for tax-deferred, like-kind exchanges. Since that time, in working with major oil companies, independents and individuals, PSI has handled over $10 billion in Section 1031 exchanges, helping clients to maximize the value of their oil and gas portfolios. PSI is a closely held corporation, with Dale A. Brown serving as President. Included in the organizational activities of PSI are The Nash Books and the Executive Oil Conference. The Nash Books is a source publication that provides oil and gas production data for Texas and New Mexico, which includes contact information for operators and producers. In 1995, PSI created and hosted the first Executive Oil Conference. Since that time the Conference has drawn hundreds of oil and gas industry executives and managers to Midland, Texas, for education, networking, and dealmaking—all focused on the management of oil and gas property portfolios.
